Get found on Google: SEO for health, wellness and fitness businesses

Found, then booked.

SEO for health and wellness businesses is the work that puts you in front of people searching Google and Maps for what you do, where you are. Go Forth Digital does it for Australian allied health practices, wellness and recovery centres and fitness studios: a fast site, a page for each service, a complete Google Business Profile and reviews collected within the rules, reported as enquiries and bookings, not rankings.

One short form. We reply within one working day with next steps and a quote range.

Go Forth Digital is run by a founder with ten years in B2B sales and growth, who has co-owned a gym and carried its P&L, and spent five years building websites and systems for health and wellness businesses.

What does SEO for a clinic or studio include?

Seven pieces of work. The Google Business Profile comes early because it moves soonest.

  • Site foundations. Fast on a phone, to Google’s Core Web Vitals thresholds (web.dev), with clean page addresses and nothing important hidden behind scripts.
  • A page for each service. A page for shoulder pain, beginner reformer or infrared sauna, not one page called Services. Each says who it’s for, what happens, what it costs and how to book.
  • Location pages that earn their place. One per real location, with parking, transport, hours and the people who work there. Not forty suburb pages with the name swapped.
  • Google Business Profile. The right categories, every service listed, hours including public holidays, photos, and answers to the questions your front desk hears every day. Google ranks local results on relevance, distance and prominence (Google Business Profile Help), and a complete profile covers most of relevance.
  • Reviews, within the rules. One simple way to ask every client, not only the happy ones. Any incentive has to be offered whatever the rating and disclosed (ACCC, July 2026). Registered health practitioners have Ahpra’s testimonial rules on top.
  • Links and mentions. Local directories, partner businesses, community and industry listings that point back to you. Prominence is earned off your site as much as on it.
  • Tracking. Google Search Console, Google Analytics with your booking system tracked, and a monthly report that counts enquiries and bookings before it mentions a ranking.

Which searches do we go after?

The specific ones. A local business wins on service plus suburb, not on the one-word search.

  • Allied health practices Condition, funding and suburb: “physio for shoulder pain Robina”, “NDIS occupational therapist Gold Coast”, “psychologist on a mental health care plan with telehealth”. Parents search symptoms, not job titles, so a speech practice needs “two-year-old not talking” as much as “speech pathologist”.
  • Wellness and recovery centres Session and suburb: “infrared sauna Burleigh”, “ice bath near me”, “contrast therapy Brisbane”. Plus the reasons people book: gift vouchers, couples sessions, recovery after sport.
  • Fitness studios Class type, level and suburb: “reformer pilates for beginners Newstead”, “hot yoga near me”, “boxing classes for women”, “pilates intro offer”. Each class type and level gets a page that answers the search.

We build the list from your booking data, your front desk and search tools, then tell you which searches a business your size can win in six months and which it can’t. The second list saves money.

SEO or Google Ads?

Ads bring enquiries for as long as you pay. SEO keeps working after the work is done.

A page that ranks in month six keeps bringing enquiries in month eighteen at no extra cost. If you have empty slots this month and no search presence at all, a short ads campaign while the pages build can make sense, and we’ll say so rather than sell you a retainer first. Ads work better on top of a fast site, a page per service and a complete Google Business Profile, because that’s what turns the click into a booking. More on Google and Meta ads.

Google still handles close to nine in ten searches in Australia (StatCounter, September 2026), and the same pages, profile and reviews feed Google’s AI answers and tools like ChatGPT. That’s why we pair SEO with AI visibility: one set of foundations, two ways to get found.

Is SEO right for your business?

Good fit if

  • You have room this quarter and want Google and Maps to fill it
  • People search for what you offer in your area, which is true for most clinics and studios
  • You’re opening a new location and want it found before the lease costs bite

Not the right fit if

  • You’re a solo operator with a full diary. Complete your Google Business Profile yourself and save the money.
  • You have a long waitlist. More enquiries make that worse; automation is the better first buy.
  • You want a ranking guarantee. Nobody controls Google, and anyone who promises page one is guessing.

How it runs

  1. 1. Tell us what you need One short form. We reply within one working day.
  2. 2. We check your site, profile and searches Then we agree the list of searches we’ll target and report on. You get a written scope and quote.
  3. 3. Month one: foundations and Google Business Profile The fixes that move soonest.
  4. 4. Then monthly New service and location pages, reviews, links and mentions, and the monthly report.

What comes with every service

  • Catherine Withers, the founder, does the work, from the first conversation to the finished job. No hand-offs, no juniors.
  • Your scope and quote in writing before anything starts.
  • You own everything we build: the site, the content, the ad accounts and the data.
  • One monthly report on enquiries, bookings and clients back, with the visibility behind them. It runs on KYM AI, an independent platform, so the numbers don’t come from us marking our own homework.
  • Advertising rules built in: Ahpra rules for registered practitioners, consumer law for everyone.
  • Set up in the systems you already run: Cliniko, Halaxy, Splose, Nookal, Mindbody, GymMaster and more.
  • No long lock-ins. Ongoing work runs on a three-month initial term, then month to month.

Frequently asked questions

How much does SEO cost in Australia?

It depends on scope: how many services and locations you have, how competitive your suburbs are and how much work your site needs. Pricing is quote-based, and as a guide, Go Forth Digital’s SEO ranges from $1,000 to $6,500 a month ex GST, on a three-month initial term then month to month. A focused local campaign, with technical fixes, your Google Business Profile, your top five to ten pages and monthly reporting, sits at $1,000 to $2,000 a month. Adding new service pages, articles and link building sits at $2,000 to $3,500. Competitive markets or several locations, with more content and authority building each month, sit at $3,500 to $6,500. More in our guide to marketing costs in Australia.

How long does SEO take?

Google Business Profile changes can show in Maps within weeks. New service pages usually take three to six months to settle in a competitive suburb, and longer on a brand-new website. We set the expectation in writing at the start and report monthly from month one, so you see the direction before the volume.

Do we need a page for every suburb?

No. One page per real location, plus a service-area page if you’re mobile or offer telehealth or online classes. A page can’t move your map pin, and suburb pages that say the same thing with a different name get ignored. Spend the words on your service pages.

Can we ask clients for Google reviews?

Yes. Ask every client the same way, at the same point, and never offer something only for a good review. Registered health practitioners can’t use testimonials about clinical care in their own advertising, but aren’t responsible for reviews on platforms they don’t control, like Google (Ahpra). So don’t copy clinical reviews onto your website or socials.

Can you work on our existing website?

Yes, if it’s fast enough and on a platform you own. If it isn’t, we’ll tell you whether fixing it or rebuilding costs less. See Websites.

How do you report SEO?

Monthly, one page first: enquiries by source, bookings from your booking system, calls, and your Maps position for the searches we agreed at the start. Then what we changed and what moved. You see the same numbers your front desk sees.
